The Role of Grassroots Organizing in Health Policy Change

This report, a companion document to the CVI 2.0 Interim Report, describes the concrete policy wins that six of our grantees achieved over the first year of this two-year project.

The wins described include increasing the reach of Community Health Workers, achieving policy goals around rent moratoria in response to the pandemic, improving non-emergency medical transportation, and more.

The common denominator, however, is grassroots organizing. Each of these victories was made possible by the engagement of ordinary people in the policy-making process.
